The Danville Area School District (DASD) faced a surge in remote-learning demand driven by the COVID-19 pandemic. With over 2,500 students, teachers and administrators relying on the network, the team led by Jeff Ryan sought a cost-effective solution that would provide stability, visibility and autonomy. The district adopted WhatsUp Gold to monitor nearly 100 network devices, translate real-time alerts to mobile notifications, and proactively identify issues before end-users were impacted.
Thanks to the prior setup of Chromebooks for students and the network’s proactive monitoring, the district smoothly transitioned to hybrid and remote learning. Equipped with WhatsUp Gold, the IT team confidently supported streaming classrooms, document sharing and increased traffic—allowing them to spend more time enhancing the learning experience rather than firefighting downtime.
